KHE
KHE is a Conforto electric-resistance family suited to investigation for upright installation. The actual kW and supply voltage must be stated in the quote.
Conforto is Granby’s current Canadian furnace lead, covering electric KHE/KLE and oil KLR/KLF/KHM families. Its legacy support pages are important when an old Olsen installation is being replaced.

Conforto is particularly relevant when an owner already has oil heat or is considering replacing an oil furnace with electric equipment. Its catalogue separates lowboy and hiboy forms, which can matter to the existing duct layout. The useful comparison begins with a photograph and measurements of that layout. Do not assume that the physically closest replacement is always the best long-term fuel decision.
Granby’s current Canadian presentation also identifies legacy Olsen support. That distinction helps prevent an old brand list from becoming an inaccurate catalogue of currently sold new furnaces. A homeowner with an Olsen needs parts and replacement guidance, while a new-equipment shopper needs the current model offering and warranty issuer.
An oil-furnace efficiency percentage is not comparable to electric resistance conversion as a simple winner-takes-all number. Compare useful heating demand, local fuel or electricity charges, maintenance, storage and the capital work needed for a change. If a heat pump is an alternative, include its actual design and backup assumptions rather than comparing unrelated sales estimates.
For electric KHE or KLE proposals, specify voltage, kW and motor. The manufacturer identifies PSC versions as Quebec-only. For oil proposals, include the selected burner, firing rate and vent arrangement. These are parts of the equipment definition, not optional detail.
A lowboy electric furnace can be attractive where an oil lowboy is being removed, but the customer should ask for the specific ductwork retained and the electrical work added. A different cabinet may change access, filters or coil placement. Have the contractor mark those changes on the proposal and price necessary work separately.
For continued oil heat, ask how tank condition, fuel supply, chimney or direct venting and annual servicing are handled. A new furnace does not resolve every old-system issue by itself. Keep the inspection findings distinct from assumptions about parts that were not examined. Written alternatives, clearly stated exclusions and a second opinion on unexplained price gaps are especially valuable when the project mixes replacement equipment with a possible fuel conversion.

KLE is a Conforto electric-resistance family suited to investigation for replacement of a lowboy oil layout. The actual kW and supply voltage must be stated in the quote.
KLR is an oil-furnace family with a rear flue layout. Efficiency and output must be checked for the actual burner and firing combination.
KLF is an oil-furnace family with a front flue layout. Efficiency and output must be checked for the actual burner and firing combination.
KHM is an oil-furnace family with a hiboy / multi-position layout. Efficiency and output must be checked for the actual burner and firing combination.

| Comparison basis | No verified, scope-complete Canadian installed price is assigned to this brand. Compare the exact equipment, labour, site alterations, commissioning, tax and warranty terms. A large unexplained gap between comparable written proposals warrants clarification and an independent second opinion. |

| Assessment | Not numerically ranked: no comparable Canadian model-level failure-rate dataset was verified in this research. |
|---|---|
| Evidence | Manufacturer documentation can establish design, service provisions and written coverage; it does not establish an observed probability of failure. |
| Limitations | Installation conditions, exact model generation, maintenance history and local parts support must be assessed separately. |
