Canadian furnace costs: equipment, installation and quote evidence
Compare dated seller examples with a fully itemized local proposal.
A published price is a reference, not an appraisal
Installed furnace prices depend on the exact capacity and model, controls, venting, drainage, electrical work, duct transitions, access, removal, commissioning and warranty labour. Provincial taxes and included work also differ. A national number cannot settle the price of a particular Toronto installation.
The seller benchmarks below are advertised examples retrieved on October 11, 2026. They are not a representative market survey, a guaranteed offer from this site, or an endorsement of the seller. Confirm currency, taxes, capacity, exclusions and availability directly. A page’s technical or rebate claims should be checked against the manufacturer and program operator rather than inherited from its price table.
Keep the three price types separate
Equipment-only retail pricing does not include the installation. A manufacturer’s minimum advertised price is a selling-policy threshold, not evidence of a completed sale. An installed quotation is specific to its written scope. Comparing those three numbers as though they purchased the same result can make a fair proposal look excessive or an incomplete proposal look attractive.
For illustration, EcoFrost’s Toronto-area guide advertises single-stage installations at $2,800–$4,500, two-stage at $4,500–$7,000, and premium modulating installations at $7,000–$10,000. These are that seller’s advertised ranges, not a verified price for every brand or home. Obtain a dated Canadian-dollar quotation and confirm tax treatment.
Normalize the gap before drawing a conclusion
Request a cash price, financed total where relevant, equipment model, installation scope and labour warranty from each contractor. Ask the higher proposal to explain its additional work and the lower proposal to identify exclusions. A large unexplained difference deserves a second opinion; it is not, on its own, proof of dishonesty.
Postal-code context can help identify the service area and access questions, but it cannot inspect a vent, measure a duct, confirm electrical capacity or establish hidden conditions. Any AI-assisted planning estimate remains preliminary. The final price can vary after a hands-on human appraisal. Use the quote comparison tool to document the difference without turning a postcode into a pricing verdict.
