Ask the salesperson to explain these two characteristics independently and to identify which comfort problem each feature is intended to address.

If the proposed benefit is quieter operation, ask how existing return grilles, duct restrictions and filter resistance have been assessed. The motor description alone is not a sound measurement for your house. An added duct alteration may explain both the benefit and part of the price difference.

Require the VS-specific specification

Do not use the fixed-speed FG7TE table as a substitute for the VS performance data. Matching the broad series letters is insufficient when the blower configuration differs. Keep the full unit number, manufacturer revision and selected capacity in the written appraisal.
