Sure Comfort belongs in the lesser-known part of a Canadian comparison because it has a real Canadian product catalog, not merely a name appearing on imported equipment websites. The newer Vantix naming also helps prevent confusion with older S95T and S96T literature.

Canadian evidence
Current Canadian manufacturer Vantix pages explicitly list S951T and S962V, with Canadian brochures.
Current Vantix versus older family names
The Canadian S951T is described as 95% AFUE with a constant-torque motor. S962V is described as 96% AFUE with two-stage heating and constant-CFM airflow. Older S95T and S96T pages remain searchable, but a quote should state which generation is being supplied. A similar name does not authorize transferring a specification.
Ask the dealer for the capacity-specific submittal, including input, heating output and cabinet dimensions. If those fields are absent, leave them unknown until the correct document is supplied. It is better to have an honest gap than to copy dimensions from a related Rheem or Ruud model that has not been checked.
What the price comparison should reveal
A Sure Comfort offer can be compared with Rheem, Ruud and WeatherKing proposals, but the exercise should test the actual differences rather than assume all products are identical. Put staging, motor type, controls, warranty remedy and labour scope in adjacent columns. A difference in branding may be less important than a difference in the installation company.
For S962V, clarify whether EcoNet-related controls are included, whether remote alerts require a particular thermostat, and how the contractor will leave the setup record. For S951T, ask what functions are available with the proposed conventional thermostat. Those questions identify usable benefits rather than catalog promises.
Local support is part of the value
Ask which distributor supplies the proposed furnace and how replacement components are obtained. A sleeper brand becomes a practical choice when local service is clear, not simply when its initial quote is lower. Record the contractor’s labour coverage and what happens if a failure occurs after that period.
Avoid assigning Sure Comfort a reliability score from its warranty length. Request the exact current Canadian certificate, registration requirements and exclusions. If the dealer describes it as the same furnace for less money, ask the dealer to document precisely what is the same and what differs; a claim of equivalence should be testable.
S951T is the Canadian Vantix95% family with a constant-torque motor. It is a useful basic-equipment comparison for a household receiving a Sure Comfort proposal, but the complete model and Canadian submittal are needed to establish capacity and fit. Older S95T literature should not silently replace that documentation.
S962V is the Canadian Vantix two-stage option with constant-CFM airflow and EcoNet-related features. It should be distinguished from the older S96T constant-torque family. Similar efficiency labels can conceal a meaningful difference in blower control and the controls package being sold.

Comparison basis
No current Canadian installed-price schedule from the manufacturer was verified. Seek itemized quotes for the exact Vantix family, including the selected controls and local support arrangement.
The Canadian pages provide equipment features and warranties, but not comparable Canadian field-failure rates. No reliability ranking against related Paloma Rheem brands is justified from those materials alone.
Evidence
Manufacturer specifications describe construction, controls and warranty terms. They do not supply comparable Canadian field-failure rates.
Limitations
No verified, model-controlled Canadian failure-rate dataset was found in this research. Warranty duration is not a reliability score.
